I am a self proclaimed beauty snob and quite unabashed about it. I have had my fair share of failed beauty products from both sides of the price spectrum, but the disappointments from the lower end definitely surpass that of the other. That said, there are a few gems I have discovered and loved from the budget group, and they sit quite comfortably among my favorites. Here are some that need a special mention!

Bourjois Happy Light Foundation : I have already written very highly about this one here, and my thoughts haven’t changed since. This is my go-to “higher”coverage foundation and is un-challenged in that category so far. Lovely dewy finish paired with a good 6-8 hours wear is all that I can wish for in my foundation and this one delivers just that.

Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks : Revlon has to be a universal favorite for lipsticks. Their formula is top-notch, sans any funny odour, soft hydrating finish and a good color range. To top it, they have really good packaging for their lipsticks, specially the Colorburst range.

The Body Shop Clear Brow Gel : I have repurchased this several times already and its one of my daily must-haves. Its a little wet and takes time to dry down, but once set it does not make my brows crisp or hard and keeps them very natural.

Sally Hansen Top Coat and OPI Nail Color : I have already mentioned these here, and Sally Hansen nail color formulas are my favorite among drugstore brands. What I like about these is the fact that they do not have a chemical smell in them which is present in most cheaper (price-wise) formulas. The color range is outstanding and the finish ranges from sheer to opaque. There is nothing to not love in these.

Smith’s Rose Petal Salve : This is my multi-purpose day time salve. This is such a great salve, soft, not too thick and hydrating. I also like to apply this on the high points of the face as a highlight in the colder months, and it gives a beautiful sheen to my skin. Worn over or under a matte or drying lipstick makes it wearable for me. It was available at ASOS, the last time I checked.

KIKO Long Lasting Eye Shadow Stick : Check out my KIKO haul here, and this was highlight of that purchase and one which I have loved since. These are very pigmented and long staying on the eye lids. Shimmery, one swipe color which blends seamlessly in seconds. The perfect everyday eye shadow!

Real Technique brushes These are absolutely amazing and can give their high end contemporaries a run for their money! I have the core collection and the blush brush which serve all my beauty requirements. They are easy to clean, easy to travel with and are such great quality!

I know there is a lot out there on the budget aisle which is amazing but I try and not venture too much in that section as I tend to go over board, buy a lot and more often then not, don’t end up using.

I would love to know what your favorite items from the drugstore/high street are, and something which I can fall in love with? Let me know! 🙂
