Real Techniques brushes have been a huge hit for a while now and I have been gradually warming up to them. I started with their Core Collection a few moons ago and I have built quite a stash of these. Affordable, well made and easy to clean there is nothing not to love! Here are my favorite ways of using them.
The Buffing Brush
The Buffing brush (part of the Core Collection) has been the foundation brush of choice for many but I have taken a slight detour and use it for powder foundations and finishing powders. Not exactly ground-breaking but since I usually apply liquid foundation with my fingers, I reserve this brush for powders.
I find the traditional powder brushes a little too big for my liking hence this one helps me build up with out blowing away too much dust, especially when I am only wearing powder on bare skin.
The Multi Task Brush
A recent acquisition and one I have wanted for the longest time. The Multi Task brush has quickly become by go-to bronzer brush, something which I have struggled with for a very long time. The shape and density of this picks perfect amount of product and lets me apply it strategically without covering my whole face with bronzer! My only gripe is that they don’t sell it individually, because you know whose going to be in line for back-ups!
The Expert Face Brush
Another foundation favorite but my choice for the cream blushes! The super dense short bristles of the Expert Face brush blends cream blushes in a jiffy and makes the whole thing that much quicker and cleaner (no finger dipping!) I don’t use this one that often but when I do I bless it!
The Blush Brush
The one for powder blushes. The Blush Brush used to be my brush for powders but again because it has a rather large fluffy head, I find hard to control. I reserve it for the über pigmented blushes like Nars Dolce Vita.
The Setting Brush & Contour Brush
These are my top two brushes! I use the Contour Brush for liquid concealers like the Nars Creamy Concealer and it does a swell job of blending it in seconds. The Setting brush works in a similar fashion with pen concealer/illuminators like the YSL Tocuhe Eclat and blends in without any creasing or cakiness.
The best thing about these brushes is that they are so quick with the blending that in about half a second I have the concealer/illuminator done and ready to go! Its been such a blessing for my busy mornings!
The Domed Shadow Brush
I was actually suggested by a reader to use the Domed Shadow Brush with cream eye shadows and that was such a good tip! I use it with my Chanel Illusion D’Ombre and MAC paint pots and this works with them really well and again really quickly!
These synthetic fibre brushes are super easy to clean and keep their shape in place. So far its only love!
