Quick, Quick, Quick! says my favorite voice in the background while I am trying to slap some makeup and dash out of the house all at the same time! For situations like these and when I have anywhere between 3 to 7 minutes to get my face “done”, I have to be smart! Setting aside some key products (and some more) to come into action when the event strikes has been a wise move so far. I have here the products that help me win in the morning and also stay in place when there is a LOT more going on the entire day. What better day than Monday to tell you about it?

For the past many months now I have been relying on a slick of concealer and some powdering to-go for a day at work and you know what? I have been very pleased with that! While I am constantly striving for a “perfect” complexion through good skincare, there is nothing that a little dab of concealer cannot correct! nothing. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer rules the roost among concealers in my stash but with a deceptive tube like that I am always in fear of running out at the worst times! It is definitely the best shade I have ever been matched to (I use Ginger) and the formula has yet to cake on me.. a holy-grail much?

I have two options for powders and powdering. If I am at home I always use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light and if I am in transit, its Chanel Les Beiges in #20. This isn’t a rule, its just that I have the Chanel in my bag most of the time (AND its “nicer” to pull out a Chanel from your bag!) The Hourglass being more “luminous” isn’t actually the best way to dull down the mid-day shine, while the Chanel is matte but not flat and works perfectly.

That said, Dim Light is like butter for my complexion. It instantly makes everything taste look better! One swish of this and it tucks away all the redness and enhances all of the right spots on my face. The best photoshop in a pan my money could buy!

Remember how I was going on and on about the humidity and makeup not staying in place? I struck me one day that before primers came about I had a tiny little fling with lip and cheek stains, specially Benefit’s Posietint. The bright pink (leaning more warm on my skin) is exactly how I (want to) blush! The perfect natural flush on me, this makes for a sexy pout too when I dab it just in the centre of both my top and bottom lip and blend away with my finger. Top it with a clear balm, (Smith’s Rose Petal Salve has the prettiest tin, beautiful rose petal scent and softly moisturising) and there you have it.. moist-pretty-flushed-just-bitten lips!

The combination not just keeps the color intact on both my lip and cheek it also makes me appear less “done” and more “woke up like this”. I can live with that.

My new found love for brows is stronger than ever. Not ideal in the given circumstances considering I have been ridiculously late on some days just because I had BROWS TO MATCH! (I know why some people refuse to step out without doing their brows!) I have been latched to this pair of products for my daily brow makeover, Anastasia’s Brow Wiz (for the spoolie that comes with it) and MAC’s Stud eyebrow pencil. I don’t think I am ever going to find a better spoolie or a better brow pencil and color match so I’ll just stick to this weird routine till it runs out on me! I should probably look for a better color match with Anastasia and not have to have two pencils for the job of one? Right.

The things that MAC’s Coffee eye pencil can do for my eyes is fascinating! Its a cool brown-black, very deceptive color; run it on the upper waterline and immediately have thicker lush lashes; run it around both the lashlines, smudge and there you have it.. SMOKEY!

When its a “5-minutes to take off” kinda day, I take a little bit of MAC’s Espresso eyeshadow on a MAC 219 brush and run around the lashline and that.. is my take on the “Olsen Smokey Eye”.

What’s your makeup quickie? Pun certainly intended.
