You may have caught me ranting about underperforming and disappointing products and occasionally applauding great stuff I really really love, but seldom have I come out about things that I would repurchase. Its just that there is so much out there to try already that the cycle never completes! By the time I finish something there is already something shiny to replace it. In short, repurchases are rare and far apart.
So, imagine my excitement when I found something worthy of a repurchase (in fact backup-of-a-backup worthy!) Case in point, REN’s Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial which I had praised here earlier, but since that post I have fallen more hopelessly in love with it and now I have a second tube! This is great stuff guys! I wish I could say that about its rather disappointing predecessor, REN’s Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask but let bygones be bygones! I have found my perfect glow-giving/exfoliating/skin-renewing jam and I am one happy girl!
To brief you on what it is, this is a toning, firming and exfoliating treatment with purportedly 10% water activated Vitamin C that brightens dull complexions in a matter of seconds! All very good and slightly less believable but, this product really delivers, just, not in 1 minute. It comes in a white opaque tube packaging and is a lovely minty green in color, grainy and emollient at the same time. Its directed to be massaged on to dry skin then go over with dampened fingers and let it sit for a minute. I obviously leave it on for a good five minutes and then just rinse off. The overstaying never feels uncomfortable, instead immensely satisfying!
I find the massaging step very reassuring because I can almost see dead skin balling up under my fingers (very gross!). When rubbed in with water the grittiness instantly disappears, almost melts on the skin. Masks are probably my favorite category in the whole wide beauty world, and this might be a contended for my favorite mask yet!
This is formulated with naturally sourced ingredients like all things REN and contains no Parabens or Sulfates. I wouldn’t call it ideal for sensitive skin, but being a fellow sufferer, I have nothing but good things to say about it. Yes it might tingle a little, yes it might temporarily turn the skin a tone just shy of that of a tomato, but it all depends on how gentle you are or are not with your skin. Don’t go crazy with the rubbing and everything is going to be fine!
As you can probably tell, I went through my first tube rather quickly and have already repurchased it after about two months of usage, but in its defense, all this time I have rarely used any other mask and even if I did, I first used this! So, with a once a week (normal) use this would have probably lasted me three to four months at a stretch. Cannot fault it!
I bought mine from CultBeauty.
