Things have been awkwardly quiet on the blog for the past few weeks, and there’s a good reason for it I promise!
Let me give you a little background on whats been going on. So, I had been blogging on wordpress.com for the past several months, nearly two years actually, and I had grown sick of it. To put it politely, TCF had outgrown wordpress.com and was desperate for a new home.
People with any blogging experience will know how frustrating it can be when your blogging platform does not allow you to change your fonts, or colors, or move around plugins or even install plugins that you want to! In order to have that independence I migrated my blog to a different hosting platform, got unlimited storage space, freedom to do WHATEVER I want to do with the blog, make it look just as I want to etcetera, etcetera.
In addition, moving platforms gave me an opportunity to change the way TCF looked, and the new theme is thanks to four sleepless nights of coding, four take-aways, three ramen bowls, and another five days of wait for the domain to get transferred. I really hope the blog is now easier to explore, nicer to look at and still has my touch to it? Let me know!
These changes are mostly at the back-end and readers of the blog wouldn’t really notice a change in functionality. If you’ve been following the blog on Bloglovin‘ you have nothing to worry, all updates will work just the same. If you’re someone who was following TCF on wordpress.com, might I suggest following it through Bloglovin‘ so you don’t miss a post? Believe me, there’s lots coming!
In other very important news, TCF 2.0 also happens to have added a co-author to the blog. Meet Pavithra, who I met through TCF, then chatted for a year about lipsticks, then begged her to start writing a blog, and finally coerced into joining me on TCF! We are very similar people in thoughts and values but very different in style and tastes. I really hope her perspective on things will add an interesting new dimension to TCF.
It’ll take sometime for me to go through the couple of hundred posts I have already written and make sure they don’t look wonky. It has been a long time coming and I am very pleased I got it done!
Hope you’re having a good Sunday!
